Reed has been involved the marching arts since 1975.Born and raised in San Diego, first living in La Mesa then moving to Poway at the age of 10.  By the time he entered Poway High School he was already hooked on playing music and knew this was going to be a big part of his life.  

After high school, Reed marched three years of Drum and Bugle Corps ending as a lead baritone player with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Reed started teaching marching at Poway HS right after graduating high school and hasn’t stopped.Reed is currently the Visual Caption Head for both Poway and Mt.Carmel high schools.

In 2011 Reed was inducted into the WGASC (largest winter guard circuit in the country ) Hall of Fame. Reed is experienced in all aspects of the marching arts and has clients all over the country.He has written for all divisions in DCI, including The DCI div.2 undefeated season and gold medalist 2003 Esperanza D&B Corps. and The 2008 Cavalier Alumni corps.Reed has written for WGI winter guard and drum line finalist. Reed has written for the following circuits: DCI, DCA, WGI, BOA, SCSBOA, WBA, PIMBA, USSBA,  TOB, MBA and UIL.

Del Norte, Northern Nash (NC), Nogales, Rancho Buena Vista, Mater Dei, Dessert Oasis (NV), Vista Murrieta, Canyon, Gateway (PA), Madera, Belle Vernon Area HS (PA) Point Loma, West Allegheny (PA), Eastlake, Murrieta Valley, Southmoreland (PA), Ramona, Mission Hills, Bonita Vista, Indio, Murrieta Mesa, Grossmont, Kennedy, plus many more.
